Understanding the Journey: Why Healing Takes Time for Your Digestive Woes.

Hello to everyone who's on a journey to better health, especially if you're dealing with gut health problems. Today, we're delving into a crucial mindset aspect of the healing process – understanding that it takes time.

As a Gut Health Nutritionist, I've seen first-hand the journey many of my clients undertake to overcome digestive problems. And I know that no matter how much we want everything to be fixed instantly, the human body doesn’t work that way.

The Nature of Healing:

We often look for quick fixes or immediate results in our fast-paced world. Healing is not an overnight process, especially regarding Gut Health. Whether you're recovering from digestive illness or working towards having better gut health, it's important to acknowledge that your body and mind need time to adjust and heal.

Our body has an innate order of things and we cannot force or rush this. Yes, we can help it along as much as we can - and remove anything that’s blocking the healing - but we need to understand that things will happen at their own pace.

Some of the things we can do to aid this process are:

  • Get quality sleep

  • Remove processed foods, stop eating things that aren’t really wholefoods

  • Reduce your stress

Setting Realistic Expectations:

One of the first things I discuss with my clients, particularly those struggling with digestive problems is setting realistic expectations. Healing from gut conditions is not like flipping a switch. It's a gradual process that requires patience, commitment, and, most importantly, time. Remember how long it took you to realise you had these symptoms, it didn’t happen overnight, so you can’t expect your healing to occur overnight either.

Our Approach to Healing:

In our Wellness By Nutrition Online Clinic, we focus on evidence-based methods that use a patient-centred approach, especially for clients dealing with digestive issues such as leaky gut, irregular bowel movements, SIBO & IBS.

Our services are designed to support you through every step of your healing journey. For instance, our Healthy Gut Reset Program includes

  • Regular coaching support

  • Functional Testing

  • Email Support

  • A 6 stage gut healing Food Roadmap

Success Stories:

We've seen remarkable progress in our clients who have embarked on this journey with us. Take, for instance, a previous client who went to the bathroom every time she ate something; now, this can be very annoying and cruel to your social life. But we found the root cause of her gut lining issues, which was a combination of stress, diet, alcohol and contraceptive pills. It was a process of removal, repair, and rebuild, but she now has more energy, knows how to keep her gut lining strong, and no longer runs to the bathroom every time she eats.

Your Role in the Healing Process:

Remember, as someone seeking to overcome digestive problems, your active participation in the healing process is crucial. This includes being committed, trusting the process, being honest, letting me know about your lifestyle and diet, and adhering to treatment plans. The more I know about you, the better I can help you.

Healing is a journey, and like all journeys, it takes time. If you're ready to begin or continue this journey with us, I invite you to book a free gut health discovery call.

Let's work together to embrace the healing process at a pace that respects your body and mind.
